NDI® Software Developer Kit

Equip your systems, workflows, and facilities for IP-based video production by downloading the NDI® Software Developer Kit. This SDK provides the tools and resources for developers and manufacturers to implement the NDI protocol, NewTek's innovative Network Device Interface technology, to enable IP connectivity and video transfer between devices.

The NDI® protocol is a new open standard for live production IP workflows over Ethernet networks. A bi-directional standard that can operate over a GigE local area network, NDI allows systems and devices to identify and communicate with each other, and to encode, transmit, and receive high quality, low latency, frame-accurate video and audio over IP in real time.

The NDI® Software Developer Kit provides the tools and resources for developers and manufacturers to integrate NDI into their systems and workflows to enable or accelerate their transition to IP. The SDK supports finding, sending, and receiving any number of video streams over IP, with the encoding algorithm supporting all video resolutions and frame rates up to 4K and beyond, as well as 16 channels of audio and beyond. It also includes tools to implement video access and grouping, bi-directional metadata, and IP commands.

Minimum System Requirements:

  • 32-bit or 64-bit Microsoft® Windows Vista® operating system (OS) or better
  • Intel i3 Sandy Bridge CPU (2008 or later) or better
  • 4GB RAM
  • Gigabit LAN connection for signal transmission over IP via NDI® Technology
  • Display with screen resolution of 1024 x 768 or higher

64-bit Windows OS recommended. Faster CPU and additional memory recommended for broadcast and integration of HD video streams.
